The Story Behind Synergy Insurance Group
The Wake-Up Call Life changes in an instant. It started with a simple basketball injury. When I chipped a bone that led to a cyst, I thought it was a minor setback. But after a routine 2025 surgery, I found myself in the ICU fighting three severe infections, including MRSA. I went from summer tournaments to 24-hour IVs, facing the reality I might not make it. It took 3 hospitals, multiple surgeries, and 5 months of daily IV treatments to save my life. The Heartbreak and The Mission As an only child, I moved to NC to care for my mother. I survived the hospital and made it home, but tragedy struck when she passed away from pneumonia shortly after. Recovering from my near-death experience while mourning her, I realized how fragile life is. I learned what it means to be vulnerable, and how crucial it is to protect those we leave behind. Leaving a Legacy In my darkest moments, I thought of my younger teammates, Dom and Maleek, who also lost their mothers. We fought back against grief by getting back on the court, playing in a tournament to represent the moms who believed in us. That drive to honor family is the foundation of Synergy Insurance Group.
